A boy chased a cat through the crowded sea of soft leather and myriad vivid colors along the cobblestone boulevard. Between arms and legs the faces of buildings gleamed copper in the sun. It was midday. The noisy throng rang with song and musical plucking, and drowned the gleeful shouts of their play in the tumult of market fare. The scents of fresh bread and wine mixed with the smells of beeswax and pungent herbs into a festive bouquet. But the boy and his cat hardly took notice. Men and women scowled and looked on in displeasure as the youth played with his companion in their midst. This was grownup territory, not for little kids.

The Goblin's Tower Pt1The goblins were highly reclusive and protective of their domain, and thus untrusting of strangers and strange things. Consequently, they rarely ventured beyond the forests edge, save when they traveled underground. No self-respecting goblin would consider himself adventurous. For there was one place in the forest where goblins dared not go, for they sensed a great and foreign power there. The power called to them, and they feared it, and none who ventured there ever returned. The place was shunned by all, and was referred to by the goblins as The Forbidden Trees
Elkring was a goblin once, and rather ordinary amongst his fellows in the forest. But unlike his fellows, Elkring had a powerful streak of curiosity- a very dangerous quality for a goblin to have. One day Elkrings curiosity got the best of him and he journeyed into The Forbidden Trees, to seek out the source of the mysterious power that so many feared. It called to him and he fel
